Asteria to Release New-Generation ‘Gravio,’ Combining Nodes and Cloud for Enabling Data Collection from Multiple Areas and Cloud Integration

Tokyo — June 16, 2023 — Asteria Corporation (Japan listed, Security Code: 3853) announced today that it will start providing new-generation Gravio as a node*1 integration platform, which can connect digital devices, edge computers and cloud services without coding, on July 3, 2023.
Background
Over the past half century, the type of computing employed by companies has shifted from host-based to client-server-based, cloud-based, and edge. Asteria’s policy is to develop products designed to last more than a decade, and we promote “node computing” as a new form of computing that is expected to contribute to enterprise users over the medium to long term.
Node computing combines the advantages of both cloud and edge computing, and used a decentralized architecture, which can also handle centralized management as an essential feature for corporate users. Amid rapid advances in digital equipment, internet technology, and generative AI*2, companies are facing the need to adopt new digital technologies in their business and undergo company-wide digital transformation (DX) in oder to boost their competitiveness.
Therefore, Asteria has updated Gravio, which was first released in 2017 as an AI-equipped IoT integration platform, to enable node computing. The new-generation Gravio will be launched on July 3. The new-generation Gravio will be provided as a “node integration platform”, which integrates and manages data from multiple locations, with four new pricing plans available, including a free one, each designed to meet the needs of different types of users. It enables the integration of data assets currently owned by different departments/teams to cloud service “Gravio Cloud,” as well as management and utilization of data — all without coding.
